Moggill District Sports Park, Brisbane Qld
The Moggill District Sports Park is an essential part of Brisbane City Council’s vision for an active and healthy city, providing sporting facilities to the wider Moggill and Bellbowrie communities. The park features two ovals for AFL and cricket, four hardcourts for tennis and netball, a children’s playground, an amenities building and a car park.
Project Design Brief
New drainage infrastructure was required for the perimeter of the hardcourts. The drainage system needed to be suitable for the load requirements of vehicular traffic and the safety requirements of pedestrians, including slip resistance and heel protection.
ACO's Solution
- KlassikDrain K300 with Iron Intercept Heelsafe® Anti-Slip grates
Benefits
- The Iron Intercept Heelsafe® Anti-Slip grates provide a slip resistance rating of P2 (AS 4586) and Load Class D (AS 3996)
- The DrainLok boltless and barless locking mechanism provides quick fitting and removal of grates to reduce maintenance times and security for pedestrian and vehicle safety
- The 0.5% slope of the KlassikDrain K300 system allowed the new pavements to be constructed as flat as possible, yet enables sufficient runoff to the outlet within the channel
