Pedestrian Forecourt,
Milsons Point, NSW
The New South Wales Government in conjunction with the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority have an ongoing construction program to ensure that places of interest around Sydney Harbour, remain easily accessible by locals and tourists.
One such area is the pedestrian forecourt outside Luna Park that links the North Sydney Olympic Swimming Pool.
The scope of works for this project included new paving, new stone stairs, new palm trees for shading purposes and improved drainage. |

The area is a heavy pedestrian precinct and the designers required a surface drainage system that would allow the pavement to remain flat and cater for the pedestrian traffic.
ACO’s KlassikDrain with stainless steel edge rail and stainless steel Heelsafe Anti-Slip grates was chosen. The grates offer a level of slip resistance to AS 4586 alleviating the designers safety concerns. |
