NIB Stadium, Perth, WA

The redevelopment of NIB Stadium (formerly known as Perth Oval) has transformed the oval field into a rectangular field making it suitable for sports such as soccer, rugby union and rugby league. The world-class multi-purpose stadium has a seating capacity of 20,500 for sporting events and 25,000 people for concerts. The ground has been designed in a European style to cater for the increased interest in soccer. The development included a new covered eastern stand, uncovered southern stand, BBQ terrace, corporate boxes, new pitch lighting and a new playing surface.

Project Design Brief

The recent upgrades required an easy to maintain drainage system capable of capturing the water run‑off from the new concourse grandstands and prevent water from negatively impacting the playing surface.

ACO's Solution

  • KlassikDrain K100 sloped system with Galvanised Slotted Grates

Benefits

  • The K100 sloped channels provides a 5mm fall per metre length of channel (0.5% built-in fall) ensuring water flows towards the outlets
  • The Galvanised Slotted Grates ensure there is sufficient intake capacity to collect the water run-off from the new grandstand concourses
  • The QuickLok boltless locking system provides efficient removal of grates, reducing maintenance time and costs
