Como The Treasury, Perth, WA
Como The Treasury is a luxury hotel located at Cathedral Square in Perth’s CBD. The hotel occupies the 19th Century State Buildings that included a post office, land titles office and treasury. The buildings have been meticulously restored and re-purposed into a 48-room hotel with two restaurants, a bar and a therapies centre. The hotel is one of Perth’s historical landmarks and was voted the second-best hotel in the world in Conde Nast Traveller’s Readers’ Choice Awards.
Project Design Brief
Designers of the restoration project wanted the pavement areas between the buildings to be level and safe for pedestrians and required an efficient drainage system that would capture all the surface water runoff. The designers also wanted a high quality drainage system with aesthetically pleasing grates that would complement the traditional buildings.
