The Burwood Brickworks Shopping Centre is arguably the world’s most sustainable shopping centre and Australia’s first retail build to receive a 6 Green Star Design. The International Living Future Institute (ILFI) also announced that it had achieved Petal Certification.
Project Design Brief
Designers wanted to keep pavements as flat as possible in the plaza area to align with pedestrian safety principles and meet disability legislative requirements. Stormwater runoff also needed to be removed quickly from these pavements to ensure no standing water could cause problems for shoppers during heavy rain.

- The Stainless 5-Star Heelsafe® Anti-Slip grates provide pedestrian safety as they are slip resistant (P4 to AS 4586), safe for heels and are wheelchair and walking cane compliant to AS 1428.2.
