Northern Gold Coast Sports & Community Precinct, Pimpama, QLD
Servicing the needs of the outer suburbs of the Gold Coast, the Northern Gold Coast Sports & Community Precinct is a progressive piece of sporting infrastructure. The precinct comprises several size pools, a gym, an event space, and numerous tennis and netball courts.
Project Design Brief
A new trench drain was required for the courts to deal with stormwater runoff as well as foot and vehicular traffic. Designers also wanted to make a visual statement by allowing the grate to be a feature of the site.

Benefits
- The 0.5% slope in the K300 channel run provides runoff to the outlets, even though surrounding pavements are constructed flat.
- The Iron Wave Heelsafe® Anti-Slip grates provide a slip resistance rating of P4 to AS 4586 and load class D to AS 3996 whilst becoming a striking feature of the pavement.
