Harold Corr Oval, Cambridge Park, NSW

Harold Corr Oval in Cambridge Park was upgraded by Penrith City Council to a high-quality athletics precinct. Alongside the new synthetic track, the transformation included new field facilities, including long jump, triple jump, high jump, steeplechase, pole vault, hammer throw, discus, shot put, and javelin.

Project Design Brief

To ensure the track would get certification from World Athletics as a Class 2 facility, designers incorporated an ACO solution for the drainage system to provide a restraining edge for the construction of the track. Key datum measurements would be taken from the ACO drainage product.

ACO's Solution

  • System 4000 with Galvanised Mesh grates and Polymer Concrete Slotted Covers

Benefits

  • Unlike a metal edge, the polymer concrete edge on System 4000 channels will not damage the synthetic track material.
  • The Galvanised Mesh grate provides sufficient intake capacity for runoff.
